5 Things To Consider When Purchasing A Home In The Northwest Valley
So, you just got married or you’re about to and you’re ready to start thinking of purchasing a home in the Northwest Valley. What do you do next?
Hi, Braiden here with the Desert Charm Living Real Estate Team. Today I’m gonna walk you through the process of preparing to purchase a home after your wedding.
Purchasing A Home: Know Your Finances
Take financial inventory. Not only are you combining your life, but you’re combining finances. The first step in purchasing a home should be taking inventory of where you are as a couple with your finances. Debt, income, saving, et cetera, will be combined once you’re married.
Needs vs. Wants
Assess your needs and wants. Once you’re married, there’s now two opinions to take into consideration. You’ll want to assess what you need in a house and what you want.
Set Aside Money
Even if you’re six to 12 months out from purchasing a home, now is a great time to set money aside.
Get a Pre-Approval
Before you start looking at homes or submitting an offer, you need to talk with a lender. They will help you figure out which loan program you can qualify for and if there is anything that needs to be done before you can purchase.
Hire A Real Estate Agent
Last, talk with an agent. Let’s meet up for lunch or coffee and get you started. Once you have an idea of what you want and what your budget is, I can help walk you through the home buying process and what it looks like.
